Bulk purchasing for medical device distributors, hospitals and clinic groups established in the European Union. Every order is subject to due-diligence checks and to the manufacturer’s distribution rules.
Wholesale works like my other orders: I hold no stock, I buy against your confirmed order inside the EU, and the goods are sent to your premises by courier or freight. What changes is who may buy, what I check first and how payment works.
Who can buy wholesale
- Medical device distributors and wholesalers established in the EU, registered with the authority of their country where its law requires it. Spain, for example, requires economic operators to be entered in the AEMPS register (RECOPS) before they place devices on the Spanish market; Italy requires registration in its national database.
- Hospitals and clinic groups established in the EU, buying for their own sites.
I do not supply wholesale to businesses outside the EU, to online shops or marketplaces that sell to the public, or to anyone who cannot show the registration their country requires.
What I check before a first wholesale order
- Your company registration and your EU VAT number, checked in the European Commission’s VIES system.
- Your registration or notification as a distributor where your national law requires it or, for hospitals and clinic groups, your operating authorisation.
- The people authorised to order for you, and your delivery addresses. Goods are delivered only to your registered premises.
- A written statement that you supply these products only to licensed healthcare professionals and healthcare institutions inside the EU.
- A sanctions check on the company and its owners.
If any of these cannot be established, I decline. This protects you as much as it protects me: under Regulation (EU) 2017/745, both of us have to be able to show where each device came from and where it went.
The manufacturer’s distribution rules
Some manufacturers do not allow their products to be resold outside their own distribution network, or allow it only under conditions. Where that applies, I do not supply the product for resale, even if I can supply it to a clinic. I tell you this before I quote, product by product.
Conditions
- Minimum order: 2,500 EUR of products per order.
- Prices: quoted in writing for each order, after my supply partner has confirmed the quantity and the price. There is no published wholesale price list. Prices for larger quantities depend on what my supply partner grants for that volume.
- Payment: every wholesale order is paid in full in advance, by bank transfer, to the company account shown on the proforma invoice. There are no credit terms for wholesale.
- Prices are final. No VAT is added.
- Delivery: by tracked courier or pallet freight to your registered premises. The cost and the delivery time are stated on the proforma before you pay. Large quantities can take longer than the usual fourteen days.
- Shelf life: every unit has at least twelve months of shelf life left on delivery. If a unit has less, I refund it.
- Original packaging only: no relabelling, repackaging or splitting of packs, and no export of the goods outside the EU.
- Traceability: I record the lot numbers I supply to you. You keep your own records of where each lot goes, and you pass on any safety notice or recall to your customers.
- Documentation: where I buy directly from the manufacturer, I can show you the documentation. Where I buy from a distributor or a wholesaler, I name the supplier of your order on request, but I cannot show you the manufacturer’s authorisation for every brand.
- If I cannot deliver: everything you paid is returned in full within 30 calendar days. If a paid order is not delivered because of a failure on my side, I add 10% of the amount paid.
My General Terms apply to wholesale orders as well. Onward supply, which clause 6 otherwise excludes, is allowed only after I have accepted you in writing under the conditions on this page.
How to ask
Write to [email protected] with the subject “Wholesale”. Please include your company name and registration details, your country, the products and the quantities you have in mind. I reply within one working day.
